Undo the screw holding metal sieve with allan key provided with machine. Lever it off - if needs be gently with knife or screwdriver. Should pop off fairly easily. Pull old seal out with tweezersscrewdriverfingers. Clean up the area before putting the new seal in (make sure its the same way in the old one came out) replace the metal sieve and youre done -) another couple of years with luck. 1 allen key screw holds the shower head which when removed exposes the silicon ring seal. A probe such as a small screw driver may be required to lever the seal from the seat. Check the orientation of the old seal so that the replacement will be installed with the even surface toward the basket of the group head. Wipe out the seat with a cloth over the tip of the probe so the new seal seats completely. Install the new seal noting its orientation to unsure a complete steam seal. Replace the shower head and retraining screw. Make a brew to test the installation.

To gain a secure and tight fit it is to be expected that there will be a certain pressure in installing the steam ring into position to ensure a secure seal when operating the coffee machine. The previous steam ring was firmly stuck into position and this took more effort to remove than inserting the new steam ring. Given this machine has been used without any issue for some 10 years this is the first fault presenting and only from normal wear and tear usage.
Tools Required:
I used a flat head screwdriver to help unseal and lever out the worn steam ring.
